The Real Estate Boom is OVER – What does a NORMAL real estate market look like in 2023?

The real estate boom is a thing of the past in lots of places in the world.  What does that world look like now for real estate agents?  How will your job change? What will you need to do differently?

Today we explore the NORMAL real estate market.

In the boom, virtually anyone could sell real estate.  You really didn’t need negotiation skills or marketing skills.. everything was pushed to an abnormal level where it was done for the agent.

Properties sold before they even hit the market.

Mulitple offers so sales were pushed through.

So in a normal market you need certain skills.

We discuss what a normal market looks like  –

  • Setting the listing up to sell
  • Accurate pricing
  • You must have Market Knowledge
  • Set the land mines – Agents will sign jump
  • Lose listings from other agents door knocking
  • Superior customer service
  • Get in the door without 2 other agents going in too.  More than one agent competing for the business?   Don’t wait to be called out
  • Showing you are worth your fee – the value you bring
  • Hard conversations  – whether that is the price or whatever it may be
  • Price adjustments could be critical
  • Vendor management – Educating the vendor on the price
  • Servicing buyers
  • Negotiations – You have to negotiate.  Building and pest etc.  Negotiations are critical.
